Crumpet

Crumpet came to CBR on January 8, 2023, after being dumped on a ranch in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, the home she was dumped on had multiple dogs of their own, and could not care for Crumpet. Luckily, they were able to tell us how loving she was with humans and how friendly she was with other dogs so we could place her in a foster home asap.

Upon arrival, one of Crumpet’s ears was swollen shut, she was blind in one eye, and her breathing was very concerning. We got her in to see a vet to start treating her ear, see what could be done for her eye, and get a consult for a palette correction to help her breathing. Her personality was super calm, relaxing, and a typical bulldog. She was the most happy when she was about to get her food, oh my the spins and hops she would do were just hilarious. She warmed up over time to her foster’s resident dogs and absolutely loved whispering sweet nothings to the Casanova of the pack while dousing his ear with slobber. She has never been much of a walker, so her foster got her her own wagon to do pack walks in!

We did have a scare once with her, we aren’t sure what happened, but at one point while in her kennel she cut her tongue. Her foster came and found blood everywhere, so she rushed her to the ER. It seems she got it caught on one of the wires, probably looking for a piece of food, and cut her tongue. She healed well on her own and now has a unique tongue to match the rest of her muscular physique and glass eye.

On April 30, 2023, Crumpet went to her forever home. We are beyond happy to have found this sweet girl a home, and we are so fortunate to watch her thrive and live out the rest of her days filled with love and a place to relax.

Happy Tails!

She loved lazy mornings with warm crumpets and tea whilst the world was busy she soaked up life’s simplicity.
