Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make her tail wag.

Chanel’s story is not an uncommon one. She had the coloring of an “exotic” bulldog and her being a Frenchie always leads us to believe the worst in humans, but we can only hope she was loved and not used for breeding. She was taken in to CBR on March 11, 2023, from Turlock Animal Shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia.

When she arrived with us, she didn’t seem to have any behavioral or medical concerns. As time went on, we learned that sometimes Chanel didn’t want anyone else around her things, but with some training this resource guarding was easily corrected. She interacted well with other dogs and the applications came streaming in soon after she was marked available for adoption, but it turns out we already found her family.

While Chanel was not a foster fail in the true sense of the phrase, Chanel’s foster mom’s daughter fell in love and asked if she could adopt her. Chanel hoped on a plan with her foster mom to meet her new fur siblings, and she was soon adopted on June 26, 2023. A few months later her family moved back to California with Chanel in tow where she lives by the coast enjoying life.

Chanel will never know what it’s like to be used for other people’s profit. She will only know love and what it is to have people who care about her well being moving forward.

Happy Tails!
